The world is moving at an incredible place and it becomes crazy to keep track of all the things that are happening around you. It is a good habit to have multiple succinct sources of information curated in your inbox so that you are informed of things you want to keep track of. I read daily about the following topics:

  1. Finance
  2. Businesses and Startups
  3. Politics
  4. Trending News
  5. Technology

For the topics mentioned above, I would personally recommend the following newsletters:

  1. MorningBrew

Alex Liberman and Co have created a newsletter that you cannot miss. They cover a lot of news for the USA and run sections where they take a deep dive on a lot of trending topics. They have a touch of humor and wit in all the news that they report which ensures that it does not turn monotonous. Moreover, they keep experimenting with various formats of presenting the news, either through quotes, stats, quizzes, crosswords, or historical background. This is one of those, which if you consume daily will give compounding returns in knowledge over a longer run. They also run various other newsletters which are more niche and can suit your bills such as Emerging Tech Brew, Retail Brew, Marketing Brew, and Sidekick. If you want to give it a try, subscribe here. Ohh, by the way, it is free.

2. The Ken

This is a paid newsletter but is reporting news as it should be instead of the propaganda that is being pushed through the current news channels. They cover news for SouthEast Asia and they do a fantastic job of keeping the news real. Facts and opinions backed by stats, diagrams, and facts are what you can expect here. The Beyond the First Order(BFO) newsletter is truly gold. They up their game on a Sunday when you receive The Nutgraf which takes a single topic(current relevant news that might be trending or is being swiped under the radar) and through analogies, stories or even charts depict a unique take on the story that can get etched in your memory. Do subscribe here for your free monthly trial.

3. Finshots

A daily dose of pocket-size financial news that covers a single topic usually ending with a question that lets you ponder on the topic. The financial news is usually devoid of jargon and is easy to consume for a layman. Moreover, on certain days they also break down jargon or explain topics in a way so that even a 15-year-old can consume financial news. They have a weekly newsletter as well known as Finshots Markets which has a more detailed explanation of a particular financial topic that is the buzz that week. You can subscribe here.

4. GzeroMedia

One-stop destination for global political news. They explain all the major political events that are happening around the world and the impact they have on a diurnal cadence. They have an interesting section where they connect random numbers to global events. Before reading this newsletter, I was never aware of global political news. This has been an eye-opener and has helped me understand global politics that I never thought could be so mesmerizing. You should definitely give it a try but I would agree that like beer, this newsletter is an acquired taste. Subscribe here.

5. Scott Galloway’s No Mercy No Malice

The revered NYU Stern professor, Scott Galloway, runs a weekly Friday newsletter that should be a part of your inbox. With personal anecdotes and in-depth analytical data points, you get to understand his take on business, tech, and digital economy. The newsletter is written via a gripping raw style with touches of humor and satire that leave you wanting for more and at times can hit you harder than you expect. Life is so rich; you have to read the newsletter to understand what I said at the start of this sentence. Do subscribe here.

I have been reading these newsletters diligently for over a year now and I can personally vouch that these gems are something that should be a part of your mailbox.

Feel free to send across your favorite newsletter suggestions in the comments below.
